Finding Your WHY

How do you follow your passion and purpose when trying to heal from burnout?

The picture attached is not a polished one but it represents my WHY for what I am about to share with you.

If we haven’t known each other for long, I am a Family Medicine doc who also went through several trials outside of work. From being in an abusive marriage, loss of a child, followed by a nasty divorce and becoming a single parent, I started my career outside residency in 2011 with the floor taken off from under me financially and psychosocially.

Meanwhile in the past few years I went through burnout. Each time I healed from burnout and felt better, an unexpected big event came crashing down, putting me back a little into burnout. Like certain unhealthy working conditions, a few tumultuous turns in my current marriage, almost single-parenting a strong-willed but precious boy all over again, being stopped from following my life purpose, and even covid.

Sometimes (or mostly all the time) big changes bring big blessings, if we only let ourselves see how the blessings come to us. The silver lining was that I got to learn how to heal from burnout over and over again, even when conditions where not optimal to heal from it. I call it healing-from-burnout on steroids, lol

It helped me realign my life. I am no longer a seemingly high income earner living paycheck to paycheck. I am no longer denied the chance to attend a school event my son participated in or the chance to take him out on fun trips.

By God’s grace I have a better control of my work hours and the ability to work on my terms.

Now it’s my turn to play with what tried to kill me and help others do the same!

Now I am a certified physician life coach, hoping to help other female physicians going through burnout. Something I have been called to do for a while now….And I am trained in three different schooling ways for it, including being an ICF accredited coach. Should we say training on steroids, lol?

Yes I am listening to my inner self and following along on my life purpose…..

…To do the things that matter the most….Like helping others, whether it be coaching or holding loving space for them, and being there for my son.

This picture is my son and me at our nearest water park this past summer. We had a season pass on a discount and we made it at least 5 times to the park, how about that!

PLUS, something I am most grateful for: I had the energy to take him around and even join him on some rides!!

Thank you for witnessing my journey!

Wishing you light and happiness in yours!! ❤
