Hello my friend, ready to know an insider secret that can help launch you high in life? From today, I am honoring my inner calling to share a few things that your spirit may love us for.
For long, I had been thinking of how to include that in this blog… since this blog is mainly about tips from a doctor mom, whether it be about crafts, child’s play, health, organic living or goofing around lol.
These insider top secret bits are nuggets that showed up in my own life’s journey. On thinking deeper, these are nuggets that found this doctor mom after all, so I guess that’s reason enough to find their way into this blog.
When I was in high school, I used to keep a notebook where I used to write down tips I learnt from each test, exam, study experience etc. so I could refer back to it when preparing for a future test or exam. One day it was tips on how to solve a particular kind of math that made it into my book. Another day when I got something wrong on a test, it was a motivational statement on how to get around from making that same error in the real exam at the end of the year. Often times it would also have a message about how to not be discouraged this happened at that time, that the test in the future could be different.
In a way, I was trying to capture what my future self would tell me in that situation, so I could have that advise to go by for the rest of the school year.
This post may be something along the same lines, but with a broader focus.
In each of these ‘insider top secret’ posts, I hope to share a value that may significantly impact our lives. Let’s read on to find more about your “Contribution” to it all.
So here we go:
WHAT IS CONTRIBUTION?
Have you ever been angry with someone? Have you ever triggered anyone?
Then believe it or not, you were contributing.
Have you ever been there for someone? Have you given someone a shoulder to cry on when they needed to vent? Have you helped them find themselves when they were weak?
If so, you were contributing.
But WHAT WERE YOU CONTRIBUTING TO? That is the million dollar question!
Contribution is anything a person or thing brings to the table in any situation. When you are changing a baby’s diaper, you are contributing to his or her personal hygiene. But without realizing it, you are also saying you are being there for him or her. You are laying the foundation of trust and secure attachment.
Securely attached individuals form healthy family bonds and in their turn contribute the same to their children and help pass down this noble contribution.
What if that parent felt overwhelmed and gave in to addictions? The diaper may not be changed. After several missed diapers, the baby feels unloved, insecure and grows up to drown the demons in his head with addictions. And may in fact pass down this unhealthy coping behavior. Till one day, someone in the lineage honors their intuition and breaks the cycle through self-development.
When we encourage someone towards their highest potential, we are contributing to their growth.
By spiritual self-development, we are always contributing to everyone’s growth just by being us.
Did you just finish reading this? Then thank you for your contribution!
