How do you beat burn-out?

Burn-out is a "Bone-tired, soul-tired, heart-tired kind of exhaustion".....and I wouldn't wish it on anyone!

When I went through burn-out, it felt like my life was slipping out from under me. I felt I was losing my energy, my precious time with loved ones, my sanity and even my ability to sustain my career.

I had to make a drastic change to turn my life around. And that lead to the creation of my free facebook group: Enlightened MD, where every week we share strategies to beat burn-out.

Healing from burn-out needs just the right combination of a healthy lifestyle, an in-depth mental and spiritual transformation as well as physical rejuvenation. Many of this I learnt by trial and error. By my experiences, I was able to fine-tune the strategies to where they worked best.

For me, burn-out manifested physically as well: aging joints and back pain that limited my ability to lose weight to regain my energy, sleep apnea, insomnia, and diabetes, besides forgetfulness. It was like my physical symptoms formed a never-ending circle feeding into each other. The tips from my journey of unraveling these and getting my life in order have been shared in my blog. Take about 5 minutes for yourself today where you can be free of distractions:

  1. Take a few slow deep breaths.
  2. Let’s tune into your mind/ body to tell you what it is that is asking for healing at that moment. If you are new to this practice, the thing that is emotionally weighing heavily on you right now would most likely be the one that needs healing.
